BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College is hosting a short symposium to celebrate ecosystem ecologist, and Professor of Biology and Environmental Studies John Lichter’s service on Thursday, April 5 from 4-5:30 in Kresge Auditorium, Visual Arts Center. The symposium will feature talks by David Foster, director of the Harvard Forest, Harvard University; Anne Hayden, program manager, Sustainable Economies Program, Manomet; and William Schlesinger, president emeritus of the Cary Institute for Ecosystem Studies. This event is open to the public free of charge.
Lichter has been connecting students to the community through field research on local environmental issues since his arrival at Bowdoin in 2000, working in dialogue with numerous non-governmental organizations, state agencies, consulting firms, and individual stakeholders.
