FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — The Bates College women’s tennis team played three matches on the road over the past weekend, winning one and dropping a pair.
On Friday against 17thranked Case Western Reserve, the Bobcats had their five-match winning streak ended in a 7-2 setback. Senior Maisie Silverman of Brunswick earned one of the two points for Bates with a No. 1 singles, 7- 5, 2-6, 11-9 victory.
The Bobcats earned a 5-4 victory over Swarthmore College on Saturday.
Silverman teamed with Bella Stone at No. 1 doubles for an 8-7 (2) win, then Silverman defeated Shirline Wee, 6-4, 6-3, at the top spot to secure the team victory.
On Sunday, Bates finished its trip with a 7-2 loss to the University of Mary Washington, ranked 14th.
Silverman and Stone earned an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles.
Bates returns home March 31 against Tufts at 2 p.m.
