
She was born Nov. 7, 1932 in Portland a daughter of Morris and Alice (Sherwood) Simkowitz and attended Saco schools. She was married to Richard Nemet; they were blessed with a son, Robert Lee Nemet. Richard died in 1983.
She was employed at the Trull Nursing Home for a few years, but she most enjoyed being a stay-at-home and raising her son.
Carolyn had been a member of Lyman Community Church until it closed. She then attended Faith Lighthouse Church on Smithwheel Road in Old Orchard Beach with Pastor Mitchell. Here she met Harold Reny; they were married eight years ago.
Carolyn loved the Lord with all her heart; serving Him was a big part of her life. She enjoyed writing songs and poems and was considered quite gifted at this activity.
She will be very much missed by her husband Harold; a son Robert Nemet and his wife Muriel; five sisters and three brothers; several grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the Hope Chapel. Spring burial will be in Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta.
