Police responded to a report of a disturbance at an address on Brock Avenue at 9:14 p.m. Monday, said Deputy Police Chief Tim Strout.
“An investigation by the officers determined that a Sarah Gill, 31, of Springvale, threatened an occupant at the residence with a knife in order to retain the $40 she had just taken from the subject,” said Strout in an email.
Gill was charged with robbery and sale and use of drug paraphernalia.
He said Gill was arrested and transported to York County Jail in Alfred ithout incident. She is no longer incarcerated, a corrections officer said Friday, but the amount of bail she posted was not available.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
