The Chocolate Church will play host to a theater workshop for children during spring break week.

The workshop in partnership with Actors Equity Association member Dennis St. Pierre, who has more than 30 years of stage and television experience, is for students interested in live theater, radio theater and inter-media art. KIDS ONLY! Creative Theater Workshop — for students in grades 3-9 — will take place Monday, April 16, through Friday, April 20. The week will culminate with a performance day on April 20.

“It is just a few short weeks until families will have to have options in place for school break in April. Many families do not leave town during school break,” said Jennifer DeChant, executive director of the Chocolate Church Arts Center. “This camp is an educational, creative and engaged way for students to enjoy their own stay-cation.”

The workshop process encourages skills of play, social interaction, storytelling, imagination, play writing, improvisation, impersonation and comedy interlaced with physical activity and engagement. Classes and performances will take place at the Chocolate Church, located at 804 Washington St. in Bath.

The fee for the entire week is $225 per student, with an additional $30 to include lunch.
