Freeport’s Isaac Porter scored 14 of his game-high 18 points in the second half as the Falcons pulled away for a 55-41 victory over Brunswick in high school Unified basketball action on Monday.
After honoring their seniors Jack Parker and John Johnson, the Dragons (2-5) stayed with the Falcons in the first half with baskets from Nate Hall, Cayman Alexander and Logan Demers, scoring 18 first-half points, but still trailed Freeport, 26-18.
Hall, Emmet Taub and Luke Shonts each brought cheers from the crowd, sinking second-half 3-point baskets, but it wasn’t enough to catch Freeport.
Brunswick was led by Hall’s 13 points, followed by Alexander’s 10 points. Demers chipped in with six points, while Chandler Taylor registered four in the loss.
Behind Porter, Freeport received 12 points from Farrington and nine from Kenny Brewer-Frazee, including a trey. Anthony Bookataub registered six points, while Katelyn Rioux chipped in with four points in the win.
