THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. — The Bates College women’s tennis team notched its second convincing win of the young spring season with an 8-1 defeat of Cal Lutheran Saturday evening.
The Bobcats take a 2-1 record home from California and will next face Smith College on Friday at 8 p.m. on the neutral courts of Mount Holyoke.
Bates got out to a 3-0 lead with senior captain Maisie Silverman of Brunswick and junior Bella Stone winning 8-5 at No. 1 doubles.
Silverman added a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles.
