BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick High School boys hockey team finished its regular season with a pair of recent wins.
The Dragons (9-9) qualified for the Class B South postseason as the No. 6 seed and will face No. 3 York tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Dover, N.H.
In a 5-0 win over Kennebunk, Brunswick jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on goals from Andrew Eno and Jacob Doring.
After a scoreless and chippy second frame, the Dragons put the Rams away with three third-period goals. Michael Deveaux, Doring and Eno all posted goals.
Riley Kirk stood tall in net, making nine saves and holding on for the shutout.
In the regular-season finale, the Dragons rolled to an 8-1 win over Maranacook/ Winthrop at Kents Hill.
Brunswick set the tone early as Eno scored within the first 90 seconds.
The Dragons kept the pressure on, scoring five more goals in the first period. Deveaux, Michael Marro, Scout Masse and Jared Hummer each had a goal in the first, and two more goals in the second and one in the third gave the Dragons a season high in goals in a game.
Kirk held a shutout through the first period and Spencer Marquis stepped in to man the pipes.
