KENNEBUNK — The Kennebunk Free Library will host Larry Dwight at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7 and his presentation about the blizzard of 1978.
Dwight lives in Kennebunk and his presentation features a collection of personal photos of the damage sustained to his coastal home and the surrounding areas during this historic northeast weather event that
killed nearly 100 people and injured 4,500.
Comparisons to the recent “bomb cyclone” from early January of this year will be made especially
in relation to coastal flooding. There will also be a discussion about the architectural choices of both home and seawall building.
Dwight is a long-time Kennebunk resident and Trustee Emeritus of the Kennebunk Free Library.
This event is wheelchair accessible and the Kennebunk Free Library is at 112 Main St. in Kennebunk.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
