BIDDEFORD — Even with the month of February almost half over, Southern Maine Health Care still has many programs available for registration or programs that don’t need registration.
Here’s a rundown of some programs coming up:
• Alzheimer’s and dementia day service classes will be held from Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The class will take place at The Pavillion, 35 July St., Sanford. For more information call 409-7650.
• There will be a ‘Total Joint Replacement’ Informational session, Feb. 15, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the SMHC Medical Center, 1 Medical Center Drive, Biddeford. Registration is not required, but it is recommended to take if you are expecting or have a planned joint replacement surgery, before the surgery. For more information call 284-2630.
• A weight loss surgery informational session is held every second Wednesday of the month, Feb. 14, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. The info sessions are held at the SMHC Medical Center, 1 Medical Center drive, Biddeford. For more information please call 284-2630.
• Looking to quit smoking? SMHC offers personal info sessions on ways to stop smoking. These sessions are at the SMHC pulmonology department at 9 Healthcare Drive, Biddeford. To make a free appointment. call 283-6408.
• An Alzheimer’s support group is open to anyone with a loved one that has Alzheimer’s. The group meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The group meets in The Pavilion conference room, 35 July St., Sanford. For more information, call 409-7650.
• A breast cancer survivor’s support group is held on every second and fourth Thursday of each month. Meetings will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at SMHC Medical Center, 1 Medical Center Drive, Biddeford. For more information, call 283-7350.
• There is a cancer support group that meets on the third Monday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The meetings are at the SMHC walk-in care, 655 Main S., Saco. To register, please call 283-7320.
• On the first and third Monday of each month, there is a Carcer Survivors support group for those who are in remission. The meetings are from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cancer Care Center of York County, 27 Industrial Ave., Sanford. • Look Good, Feel Better, a one-time beauty consultation with a licensed cosmetologist or aesthetician for women who are currently undergoing cancer treatment. This program will be held on Monday, Feb. 26, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the SMHC Medical Center, 1 Medical Center Drive, Biddeford. For more information, call 283-7350.
• A support group for patients with Parkinson, their families and caregivers is held on the second Thursday of every month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The meetings take place at Huntington Commons, Ross Road in Kennebunk. For more information, call 767-9773.
