BRUNSWICK
The Brunswick Shambhala Meditation Center has announced a weekend meditation retreat for Friday evening, Feb. 23, through midday Sunday, Feb. 25.
The Brunswick Shambhala Meditation Center is located at 19 Mason St.
Shastri Veit Weber, a senior teacher in the Shambhala tradition, will be leading the weekend in sitting and walking meditation as well as exploring the concept of basic goodness — the foundation of all Shambhala teachings.
The Art of Being Human is the first in a sequence of five-weekend retreats that are an integral part of the Way of Shambhala core curriculum offered worldwide.
Friday evening’s talk is open to the public; for those not sure about spending a whole weekend, the talk offers the opportunity to learn more. There is a suggested donation of $10 for the talk.
The cost of the weekend retreat ranges from $150-$175; other financial arrangements may be possible as well.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
