The sale will be held at the from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Satruday at The New School, 38 York St. in Kennebunk.
Lynn Collins, a master quilter, left her collection of fabrics to her daughters.
Not knowing what to do with the fabric, Collins’ daughters asked their father if he knew of anywhere to donate it to.
He then went on to call The New School to see if they would like the fabric, they accepted the fabric and it was delivered to the school over holiday break.
Each year the students at the new school go on ‘Intensives’ three week long trips where the students learn, experience culture, and give back to communities.
This year there will be three trips students could go on; one to Mexico to learn Spanish and culture, one to the circus to learn about physics, and one to Florida to help with hurricane relief.
These ‘Intensives’ are to help kids get out of their comfort zones and pushes them to take risks they normally would not.
This fundraiser is help pay for these trips fo the kids.
The fabric Itself is cotton and consists of many different colors and patterns in the form of fat squares and yardage.
The fabric will be sold for $10 a pound, 3 yards to a pound, and for every 10 pounds sold 10 percent will be deducted from the total.
