PORTLAND — The University of Southern Maine has announced it will now be airing its monthly television show, “The USM Update,” statewide. “The USM Update,” a monthly, half-hour program focusing on University-wide research, academic programming and corporate partnerships, was created in September 2016 as a way to spread awareness of the work being done by and for the USM community.
As of Feb. 5, 2018, “The USM Update” will broadcast to 11 local access stations in Maine, including Harpswell Community TV, Brunswick Cable TV3 and Great Falls TV. Viewers are advised to check their local listings to see when the show is available.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
