SACO — In this New Year, Sweetser is the only organization in the state to offer myStrength – a free and confidential service that provides personalized resources to improve mental health and overall well-being – to clients, staff and community members throughout Maine.
The online program includes eLearning tools to help overcome depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders, simple tools and exercises, a mood tracker and daily inspirational quotes and videos.
“This self-help site is a great resource and complement to the clinical work we are doing to help improve the overall health and wellbeing for people in communities we serve,” said Sweetser Medical Director Dr. Marc Kaplan. “myStrength supports the whole person: mind, body and spirit.”
The mobile-friendly tool is available 24/7, and is based on proven, evidence-based materials grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, and other empirically validated therapeutic resources.

Comments are not available on this story. Read more about why we allow commenting on some stories and not on others.
We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
