SANFORD — The Wireless Zone in Sanford recently donated $4,000 to local charities as a part of the Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving initiative, which dedicates a portion of each sale.

At the end of the year, local franchisees choose the non-profits they wish to help. This year, director of sales Ryan Archie chose to donate to Grahamtastic Connection, a local nonprofit that provides electronics and internet access to seriously ill children for educational purposes and to The Center for Grieving Children.

Exchanging the check for the Center for Grieving Children were Travis Archie and Ryan Archie of the Wireless Zone, Anne Heros, Executive Director Center for Grieving Children  and Joe Bartolome of Wireless Zone.

As well, the store took part in a back to school program, where more than 300 backpacks filled with school supplies were donated to needy children. Store personnel say in 2017,  there were also donations to the the Sanford-Springvale Youth Athletics Association, the March of Dimes and the  Richie McFarland Children’s Center in Stratham, New Hampshire.
