A section of Main Street in Westbrook was closed Sunday morning when a car crashed into a utility pole near Forest Street.

Power in the area was also knocked out by the 4:08 a.m. accident. No one was hurt in the crash.

Central Maine Power reported 1,191 customers were without power. CMP estimated service would be restored by 10 a.m.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area, a Westbrook police dispatcher said.
