NEWCASTLE — Lincoln Academy outscored Mt. Ararat, 9-5 in the final quarter to edge the visiting Eagles, 53-52, in girls high school jayvee basketball action recently.
Mt. Ararat held leads of 19-16, 30-29 and 47-44 at each of the quarter breaks before LA fought back for the win.
Mt. Ararat was led by Lauren Magno’s 14 points and five rebounds. Alexa Eaton had 10 points as teammates Maddie Daulerio and Hannah Giggey chipped in with seven and six points, respectively. Giggey also had seven boards, while Daulerio hauled down four.
