Austin Damon scored 15 points and Greg Malin had 14 as the Mt. Ararat High School boys basketball team earned a 61-51 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Lincoln Academy on Friday.
Mt. Ararat improved to 4-8 and hosts Leavitt on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Tied 9-9 after a quarter, Mt. Ararat scored 24 points in the second for a 31-24 halftime lead. The advantage grew to 10 points, 43-33, after three.
Jared Balser picked up nine points in the win, while Max Spelke added seven.
Lincoln Academy received 15 points from Joel Hatch along with 11 points from Nate Simmons and 10 from Keyden Leeman.

The host Dragons scored 23 points in both the first and second quarters en route to a KVAC win over Messalonskee on Friday.
Brunswick is 8-3 heading into Tuesday’s home matchup with rival Morse (6:30 p.m.). The Eagles fell to 5-8.
Brunswick held quarter leads of 23-9, 46-20 and 55-29.
Noah Cox scored 14 of his game-high 16 points in the first half for the Dragons, while Dawson Hebert picked up 11 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Alex Small chipped in eight points, with Colby Buckham adding eight points and seven boards.
Chase Warren and Tucker Charles had 12 points apiece for Messalonskee.

The host Panthers used a 17-7 third quarter to take control for a KVAC win over the Shipbuilders at Waldoboro on Friday.
Morse (1-12) trailed 11-8 and 24-16 at the first two quarter breaks.
Ryan Creamer and Nathan Emerson had 10 points apiece for Medomak Valley (8-4), while Gabe Allaire chipped in nine.
Tom Warren picked up a game-high 14 points for Morse, while Parker Onorato had 11.

A quick start allowed the Bobcats (11-2) to stave off the Cobras at North Anson on Saturday in Mountain Valley Conference play.
Richmond led 26-12 after a quarter and 37-15 at the half. Carrabec (4-9) outscored the visitors, 33-21 in the second half.
Matt Rines and Zach Small had 17 points each in the win, while Danny Stewart picked up 11 points and 17 rebounds for a double-double. Casey Gorman had nine rebounds, while Nate Kendrick picked up five steals.
Evan Holzworth led Carrabec with 17 points.
Richmond hosts Class C South top team Hall-Dale on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The host Raiders tied the game late on a 3-pointer by Cohen Donnell to force overtime, but Lisbon’s Sean Scott scored five of his game-high 22 points in the extra period as the Greyhounds pulled out an MVC win at Wales on Saturday.
Lisbon led throughout, taking a 14-12 edge at the half and extending out to a 27-19 lead after three.
But, Oak Hill put up 25 point in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
Jonah Sautter chipped in 17 points in the win, while Seth Tapley added 10. Gavin Rawstron and Darryn Bailey had 13 points each for Oak Hill (4-9).
Lisbon (7-6) hosts Spruce Mountain on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The visiting Rebels held off the Wolverines in MVC action on Saturday.
Wiscasset (0-14) hosts Boothbay on Friday at 7 p.m.
Zach Reed had 21 points in the loss, while Ron Drake finished with 16.
Jarrett Bean scored 22 of his game-high 25 points in the first half for Telstar.
Girls basketball
RICHMOND — Richmond led from beginning to end en route to a 42-19 MVC victory over Carrabec on Friday.
The Bobcats are 8-4 and visit Hall-Dale on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The Cobras fell to 5- 8.
Sydney Underhill-Tilton had a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Caitlin Kendrick featured a solid all-around game with 10 points, five assists, five boards and five steals. Bryanne Lancaster added seven points and seven caroms.
Bailey Dunphy led Carrabec with eight points.

Abby Nadeau popped for 18 points to power the visiting Raiders to an MVC win over the Greyhounds on Friday.
Oak Hill started quickly, holding a 14-3 edge after a quarter and a 22-8 advantage at the half.
Desirae Dumais picked up 11 points in the win, while Sadie Waterman had seven. The Raiders were 10-of-19 at the free-throw line.
Giana Russo led Lisbon with 11 points, with Valerie Doucette chipping in seven. The Greyhounds finished 5- of-7 at the charity stripe.

The host Falcons received 25 points from Rylee Sevigny in an MVC win at Rumford on Saturday.
Lisbon, which fell to 4-9 and visits Spruce Mountain on Tuesday (7 p.m.), led 16-15 after a quarter.
But, Mountain Valley (10- 3) outscored the Greyhounds, 26-13 over the middle two periods to take control.
Russo had 16 points for Lisbon, with Savannah Fisher adding eight.

Visiting Lincoln Academy bounced back from an earlier loss to Mt. Ararat with a KVAC road win at Topsham on Friday.
Lincoln (6-6) led 13-8, 26-15 and 41-20 at the quarter breaks as Mt. Ararat fell to 3-9 and visits Leavitt on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Kaitlyn Feltis led the win with 14 points, while Kortney McKenna had 10 and Chelsea Williams nine.
Kyla Greenleaf paced the hosts with 10 points, followed by Caitlyn Smith with seven.

In a battle of MVC winless squads, the host Rebels outscored the Wolverines 10- 5 in the fourth quarter for the victory.
Telstar (1-11) led 11-7 after a quarter and 27-19 at the half. Wiscasset battled back in the third, claiming a 32-31 advantage.
Calla Orino had 11 points, while Lucy Rothwell had nine points. Rothwell owned the paint, pulling down 23 rebounds.
Grace Webber led all scorers with 13 points for Wiscasset, which hosts Boothbay on Thursday at 7 p.m. Maeve Blodgett pitched in 11 points, with Lindsey Gordon adding nine.
Boys hockey
PORTLAND — Bradley McMains had three goals and Gus Lappin added two as South Portland/Freeport/ Waynflete rolled to a 9-3 win over Kennebunk/Wells in Class A South action at Troubh Arena on Saturday.
The Red Riots improved to 6-5 and visit Marshwood/ Traip/Sanford on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Trailing 1-0, the hosts scored seven consecutive goals to take control.
Girls hockey
YARMOUTH — Kyaira Grondin’s goal early in the third period was the difference as Yarmouth/Freeport downed Mt. Ararat/Morse, 1-0, at Travis Roy Arena on Friday.
The Clippers (3-11-1), which defeated the Eagles earlier this season on a later third-period goal, 2-1, improved to 3-11-1 and visits St. Dom’s this upcoming Saturday at 4:20 p.m.
Mt. Ararat/Morse (1-12) visits Portland/Deering on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
