BRUNSWICK — The Mt. Ararat seventh-grade boys basketball team earned a 50- 40 win over “Battle of the Bridge” rival Brunswick on Thursday.
Parker Bate had a game-high 20 points in the win, including three 3-pointers. Lucas Holman chipped in 14 points and several rebounds, while Ryan Staples had a solid game with eight points.
Thomas Harvey paced Brunswick with 15 points, with Jack Nussbaum adding three treys.
In other recent action, the Lewiston Middle School seventh grade boys basketball team slipped past Mt. Ararat, 58-53.
Jibril Holloman scored a game-high 25 points along with a strong floor game to lead the visiting Blue Demons. Teammate Caed Langley chipped in 10 points along with a strong rebounding effort.
Bate had 20 points and Holman 18 to pace the Eagles. Tyler Berry chipped in five points in helping Mt. Ararat mount a second-half rally.
