LEBANON — Harold F. Jones, 82, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, from complications with pneumonia following a long battle with Parkinson’s.

Born in Sanford, Maine on July 28, 1935, he was given life’s greatest gift, the gift of love when Sadie and Winfred Jones brought Harold into their lives to become their only child.

He would make this love the center of his life sharing it with all that was most important to him — family, friends, faith and country. His church family and strong faith was central to his life and was anchored at Second Baptist Church in Lebanon.

Beyond his faith there was nothing more important to him than family and friends who he loved to spend time with. Love of country … there couldn’t have been anything more evident. After serving two years of active duty in Chinon, France, followed by four years in the reserves, he carried that pride of service through all the years following. He loved to don his uniform on Veterans Day and any other appropriate opportunity that presented itself.

After graduating from Spaulding High School with the Class of 1954, he went on to build a career providing quality control measures in the machine tool industry as well as serving in maintenance roles for various companies. He was passionate about his work and the companies that he worked for and prided himself in his strong work ethic. His various positions and responsibilities were often a topic of conversation and a point of pride.
