GORHAM — The University of Southern Maine men’s and women’s indoor track teams returned from a four-week break to host the USM Open II on Saturday in a non-scoring team event.
The Huskies’ 4 x 400- meter relay picked up a win, with former Mt. Ararat High School standout Eagan Eldridge of Bowdoin running a leg along with Pownal native and former Freeport student/athlete Chandler Vincent.
Former Eagle Justin Pierce finished in a four-way tie for second in the high jump (5-10), while Eldridge was third in the 800 (2:13.04).
In the women’s meet, Kelly Lynch of Harpswell was third in the 800 (2:47.88).
USM heads to Waltham, Mass., on Saturday for the Reggie Poyau Invitational at Brandeis University.
