SANFORD — York County Federal Credit Union donated 15 tote bags full of pantry items and $1,000 worth of blankets, hats, gloves, socks, and gift cards to the Sanford Vet Center following their Help for our Heroes promotion.
The promotion included a food drive in all five branches, a daily social media post highlighting local organizations that help veterans, and York County FCU donated $25 for every loan generated that week.
“Our staff takes pride and ownership in our community involvement and give back efforts. Many of our employees have close and direct ties to veterans and military service, so offering our support to such a worthy cause was a natural fit for us, and we knew our staff and community would enthusiastically respond to the opportunity,” said Shiloh Hagerman, Underwriting Manager at York County FCU. “Playing a small part in giving back to those who’ve given so much to our country was both humbling and energizing. We’re thankful for all those who helped make the initiative a true success.”
