STUDENTS FROM ST. JOHN’S CATHOLIC SCHOOL in Brunswick are invited to the school’s “St. Nick’s Shop” each year where they can purchase gifts for their families and loved ones. All of the items are donated by teachers and parents, and gives the students a chance to do all their Christmas shopping at the school. The gifts are then wrapped with bows, ribbons, and holiday paper by a small group of volunteers. This small fundraiser is one that the school enjoys doing each season. This year, the Parent-Teacher Association has decided to donate all “St. Nick’s Shop” profits to SEARCH, a Catholic Charities of Maine program which supports independent living for Maine’s seniors. “Giving back is what this time of year is all about,” said St. John’s Development Director Amber Wilson. “We are fortunate to be able to give to another non-profit and hope the joy of giving will continue.” For more information on SEARCH or to make a donation, call (207) 837-8810.
