
That is the preliminary analysis of what transpired between Joshua Gochie, 29 and his sister, Jamie Gochie, 34, both of West Newfield.
Joshua Gochie sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen in the 9:30 a.m. fracas that happened at 28 Coolidge St.
“It is our understanding that Joshua Gochie’s condition is stabilized,” King said in a news release issued shortly after noon on Tuesday. “No arrests have been made nor is an arrest anticipated. The investigation is continuing.”
In a telephone interview, King said his team met with their counterparts with the Maine State Police.
“We will speak to the District Attorney to see if any charges are applicable,” he said.
According to preliminary police reports, Gochie showed up uninvited to the residence where an argument ensued between the siblings. Joshua Gochie was shot as a result of the altercation, said King.
He was was initially taken to Southern Maine Medical Center in Sanford before being transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he underwent surgery Monday afternoon.
