KENNEBUNK — The Kennebunk Free Library has received wonderful donations of art from the community in 2017 and will put them to good use next month.
Paintings and prints, both large and small will be part of the offerings at Kennebunk Free Library’s fourth annual silent art auction that will be held Jan. 5 to Jan. 20, 2018.
A bid book with additional information about each item will be available for viewing in Speers Gallery and on the KFL website.
People who wish to place a bid on any of the items will first need to sign up for a free bid number at the adult desk.
Bidding will end at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at the close of business. Winning bidders will be notified on Monday, Jan. 22.
Kennebunk Free Library will continue to accept donations of artwork through Dec. 31.
Photos of the items will soon be available to preview on the library’s website.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
