PEOPLE PLUS MEMBERS pause for a quick picture before heading last month for “Frank’s Field Trip” to the Gardens Aglow light display at the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Frank Connors, People Plus membership coordinator, leads a field trip every month. The trip includes bus transportation and Frank’s insights and local knowledge. The van usually leaves around 10 a.m. and returns to the center around 3 p.m. For members only, typical trips include about 12 guests and cost $8 thanks to the sponsorship from both Coastal Landing Retirement Community and Scott Lemieux of Ameriprise Financial. Previous trips have included Fort Popham with lunch at Percy’s, Mount Battie in Camden with a stop at Moody’s Diner and Bowdoinham’s one room school house with lunch at the Town Landing. Upcoming trips include the Planetarium at USM, the Portland Observatory, a whale watch, the ferry to Peak’s Island, and a Sea Dogs game.
