It is typical for the library to be a resource in the community and support other non-profit organizations.
Libraries are many things to many people, just like OOB Community Food Pantry which provides nutritional aid, connections to additional resources, clothing, and other essentials to members of the community in need.
Their new website is oobcommunityfoodpantry.org and has an easy, secure way to donate online.
“The collection was just tremendous,” said OOBCFP Board Director Sandra Paynter. “It is so very generous of the library to select our organization. We can’t fully express our extreme gratitude.”
Please know that the OOB Community Food Pantry at 155 Saco Ave.is in need and donations can be made on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon or Mondays from 2 to 7 p.m.
There’s always a high need for nutritious non-perishable food items and basic non-food essentials such as toilet paper and toothpaste.

Comments are not available on this story. Read more about why we allow commenting on some stories and not on others.
We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
You can read more here about our commenting policy and terms of use. More information is also found on our FAQs.
