TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat seventh-grade girls basketball team opened its season with a 50-38 victory over Brunswick on Monday.
The Eagles were led by the hot shooting of Parker Bate, who nailed six 3-pointers and scored a game high 22 points. Lucas Holman was the game’s top rebounder and chipped in 11 points. Jacob Haskell played a strong floor game and contributed seven points.
Other Eagle players making key baskets were Alex Wormwood, Brady Merrill, Luke Spooner, Tyler Berry and Conner Vashon.
Thomas Harvey played a solid game for the Huskies and led the team with 11 points. Dalton Armstrong, Jack Poulin, Chris Koulsky and Damian Buckley all turned in strong games for Brunswick.
