
Rita was born in Biddeford, Maine on May 9, 1934, the daughter of the late Rose and George Bragdon Sr.
Rita was not only a loving and devoted mother to her children, but also had a true passion for nature. She loved all things having to do with the outdoors but was especially fond of gardening and flowers as well as bird watching. Her all-time favorite feathered friends were owls, she LOVED owls. Rita was also a lover of games, everything from card or board games to a social game of bingo.
Rita is survived by her five sons; Stephen Elwell, Daniel “Danny” Elwell, Larry Elwell, John Elwell and stepson, Christopher Boutin, her daughter; Peggy Pooler and her brother, George “Didi” Bragdon Jr.
Rita is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 18-plus great-grandchildren. Rita is predeceased by her late husband, George Boutin and her sister, Adele Letellier.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Cote Funeral Home 87 James St. Saco, Maine. Burial will be at a later date.
