BIDDEFORD — Sam Mac- Donald scored a game-high 25 points on 10-of-13 shooting to lead the University of New England Nor’easters to a 76-56 win over the Bates College women’s basketball team Monday night.
The Bobcats (1-4) got a team-high 20 points from senior Nina Davenport of Freeport and a career-high 11 points from first-year Julia Middlebrook in the loss. Davenport is now three points shy of 1,000 for her career.
UNE (4-1) controlled the boards, out-rebounding Bates 50-33. Jocelyn Chaput tallied a double-double for the Nor’easters, pouring in 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Bobcats play their home opener this Friday when they host UMaine- Augusta at 7 p.m.
