A Freeport High School student found a threat written on a table Monday, which led to the evacuation of the school and spurred state police bomb sniffing dogs to investigate the warning, according to a school official.
Regional School Unit 5 Superintendent Becky Foley said in an email Wednesday students were evacuated from the school at 12:50 p.m. and housed at the Morse Street School where they remained until the end of the school day. Classes resumed Tuesday after no bomb was discovered, she said.
Freeport Police Chief Susan Nourse confirmed a search was conducted with bomb sniffing dogs and no bomb was discovered.
There are 515 students enrolled at Freeport High School.
