All Saints Parish has a contractor to build its new multipurpose facility.

The Diocese of Portland has chosen Ouellet Construction as the general contractor for the facility to be built on the campus of St. John the Baptist Church and St. John’s Catholic School on Pleasant Street in Brunswick.

The new multipurpose facility will be approximately 15,000 square feet and will include a large open space that will serve as an auditorium, gymnasium and cafeteria. The facility will also include a kitchen, a stage, a music room, a meeting room, an adoration chapel and other amenities.

Ouellet Construction is a multi-generational, family-led company that has managed and executed construction plans for many area office buildings, academic buildings, car dealerships, manufacturing facilities, medical offices and other projects.

“I speak for the entire Ouellet team when I say that we are so proud to have been selected to build this wonderful multi-purpose facility and we will dedicate ourselves to making it the best it can be,” said Mike Ouellet, president of Ouellet Construction, in a prepared statement.

Luke Ouellet, Mike’s son who attended St. John’s, will serve as the project manager.

“St. John’s Catholic School played an important part in the lives of my three children and having been personally involved with All Saints Parish for many years, this project holds special meaning for me as well,” said Mike.

Parishioners, students, and alumni have been joined by members of the wider community in not only financially supporting the project, but also acknowledging the importance of its completion.

“The town recreation center, a Knights of Columbus hall, and our parish hall are now unavailable due to being demolished, sold, and restricted for occupancy, respectively,” said Jim Baskerville, general chairperson of the steering committee overseeing the “Founded on Faith, Building the Future” capital campaign, in a prepared statement. “There is an appreciation for how important having a facility like this is for not only the use and enjoyment of the parish and school, but for other organizations as well.”

“The importance of this facility cannot be overstated,” added Tim Forti, principal of St. John’s Catholic School, in a prepared statement. “It is a true blessing and a major step towards providing our school with the space and resources it needs to ensure a successful future.”

To date, approximately $3.5 million of the capital campaign’s $4.7 million goal has been donated.
