SANFORD — The Sanford-Springvale Historical Museum will present “The Allagash – New England’s Wild and Scenic River” at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Tim Caverly, Maine author and humorist will be the presenter. His show will include music, as well as color photographs of landscape, wildlife and historic scenes from New England’s northern forest.
During the presentation, spectators will canoe down the world famous Allagash Wilderness Waterway. There, viewers will discover a forgotten logging history, Native American archaeology, and will learn how wild animals adapt to survive in their wilderness environment.
The audience will also hear first-hand about the lore, legends and north woods characters that Caverly experienced during his 32 years as a Maine park ranger.
The museum is located at 505 Main St. in Springvale and is handicapped accessible. There is no charge for the program and all are welcome.
