BRUNSWICK

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency charged a Brunswick man and two people from Brooklyn, New York, Tuesday with selling heroin and crack cocaine from a home located in the Maplewood Manor mobile home park.

A substantial amount of heroin, crack cocaine and firearms were seized, according to a press release issued Thursday by the Maine Department of Public Safety.

The investigation and arrests were conducted by drug agents from the MDEA’s Mid-Coast District Task Force, Brunswick and Bath police, and Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Office.

On Tuesday, members of these agencies searched a home on Front Street in Maplewood Manor following a month-long investigation into drug sales from the home.

Matthew Chase, 40, of Brunswick was issued a summons charging him with unlawful trafficking in schedule drugs, a Class B felony. Agents detained him on Front Street.

Tireek Donato, 28, and Gerell Haynes, 32, both of Brooklyn, New York, were both arrested at the residence. They were also charged with Class B unlawful trafficking in schedule drugs. Both were transported to the Cumberland County Jail where bail was set at $10,000 cash.

Seized was 20 grams of crack cocaine packaged in 67 individual bags, 8 grams of heroin, also packaged in separate bags, and $5,600 in suspected drug proceeds, according to the MDEA. Also seized was a .40-caliber handgun and 12-gauge shotgun.

The Front Street homeowner was not present at the time of the search warrant. Charges will be submitted to the Attorney General’s Office for review.
