Editor,
Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 we will pause at the 11th hour of the 11th month to celebrate Veteran’s Day and honor all veterans who have proudly served our nation and those who are serving at home and around the world.
We give thanks to them and their willingness to risk all to keep our beloved America free. We also pray for their families as their loved ones serve and we pray to keep them safe.
A flag ceremony at Veteran’s Memorial Park will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. and the Old Orchard Beach Memorial Park Committee will hold this event.
We should do our best to teach the younger generation not to forget the importance of our military men and women and to always honor them, remember them and teach others to love and respect this wonderful country of ours.
With love and respect, may God Bless America.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
