Class B Volleyball State final

WHERE: Cape Elizabeth High
OUTLOOK: Falmouth has been reached the state championship match three times in the last five years, winning Class A in 2013. Top-seeded Cape Elizabeth has appeared in a state final once before, winning Class A in 2014. … The Capers beat Falmouth twice in the regular season, 3-1 and 3-2. … The undefeated Capers have depth and power, with five big hitters, and are led by senior setter Maggie Dadmun (271 assists, 52 aces). She had 16 assists in a three-set semifinal victory over Greely. Megan Connelly sparked Cape in the first set versus Greely by serving five consecutive points. … The third-seeded Yachtsmen made it to the final by coming back from a two-set deficit to beat No. 2 Yarmouth in the semifinals. Alston Armstrong sparked Falmouth’s 18-0 run in the third set with her serves. Defensive specialist Kayla Warner and setter Katie Phillips (50 assists) have played key roles in Falmouth’s success.
