BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College sophomore Caroline Flaharty has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week.
It is the second weekly award for Flaharty, who shares the honor this time with Nicole Hilton of Wesleyan.
Flaharty averaged 3.91 kills and 2.73 digs per set as the Polar Bears went 2-1 at the Hall of Fame Tournament hosted by Amherst last weekend. She finished with a .400 hitting percentage for the weekend.
The Polar Bears will be on the hunt for NESCAC Tournament seeding this weekend as they play a pair of important conference road matches. Bowdoin will play at Wesleyan on Friday (8 p.m.) and at Connecticut College on Saturday (2 p.m.) to conclude their regular season.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
