SANFORD — When those in the grip of social misfortune need help, hope and a second chance at life The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is there.

For more than 100 years, the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers programs have provided spiritual, social, and emotional assistance for men who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves. Centers offer residential housing, work, group and individual therapy, all in a clean, wholesome environment.

Join the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center & Family Stores at Walmart, 1930 Main Street in Sanford for the Greater Sanford Help Us Help Others Donation Drive.

We are happily accepting gently used clothing & goods to benefit our efforts to fund the Adult Rehabilitation Center. The physical and spiritual care that program participants receive prepares them to re-enter society and return to gainful employment.

The goals are to reunite participants with their families through the rehabilitation programs.

Residents, community leaders and area businesses are invited to donate.

Since the Salvation Army does not solicit government funding for this program, the ARC program is made possible through the generosity of those who donate goods that can be sold in our family thrift stores and provide services that are made available to the participants of our programs.

The Salvation Army will accept all donations except large furniture, call 1-800 SATRUCK for free donation pickups.
