A small bit of that perfection will be on display starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, during the 11th Annual Horse Show to benefit Ever After Mustang Rescue of Biddeford at the Hollis Equestrian Park on Route 5 in Hollis.
In addition to a variety of riders and horses competing in events, classes for new riders will be available at all levels, in both English and Western saddles.
Biddeford’s Ever After Mustang Rescue is a nonprofit organization that rescues and rehabilitates previously adopted mustangs and either transitions them to new homes and useful lives, or offers lifetime care to unadoptable horses.
It provides educational programs and mentoring to prospective horse adopters and other interested people in the care, handling and training of wild horses.
Ever After Mustang Rescue promotes interest and awareness in America’s wild horses through presentations to schools, organizations and other groups.
The goals of the organization are to protect and preserve the health and well-being of the American Mustang after adoption. It also strives to offer assistance to the Bureau of Land Management and to adopters through all means available including mentoring, clinics and workshops.
Those affiliated with Ever after Mustang Rescue continue to educate the public on the value and merits of the breed which in turn increases the success of future adoptions. The group also reaches out and helps young people “at risk” by creating hands-on opportunities to work with gentled mustangs.
An average of two to three mustangs are placed with approved homes every year by Ever After Mustang Rescue.
Funds raised at the horse show assists the program in feeding and caring for the mustangs and to provide educational and mentoring programs to adopters and the public.
Horse show class lists, registration and waiver forms are available on the Ever After Mustang Rescue website at: mustangrescue.org/index.html.
Participants are asked to register for classes by Oct. 4 for $7 each or $9 the day of the show.
