TOPSHAM — Community Spay-Neuter Clinic of Topsham is asking residents of Androscoggin, Kennebec, Cumberland, Sagadahoc, Lincoln and Oxford counties who are feeding, or have knowledge of unowned, or “Community Cats” (barn, feral, stray) to schedule spay-neuter and vaccination against rabies. This service is free. For locations within approximately an hour drive from the Topsham Clinic, Community Spay-Neuter Clinic can provide free humane trapping and transportation, both to and from surgery. “Many people feed cats and know the best thing is to have them spayed or neutered, but don’t know who to turn to,” said Clinic Director Dr. Elizabeth Stone. “Also, most people know that stray cats may not be protected against rabies. Our program will provide the assistance to those people trying to care for these unowned cats.”
