WATERVILLE — Students from the Class of 2021 have enrolled at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, this fall.

Before classes began Sept. 6, they took part in a weeklong orientation that included a civic engagement component in downtown Waterville, an introduction to academic and intellectual life at Colby, and an address by the Dr. Frank and Theodora Miselis Professor of Chemistry D. Whitney King at Colby’s 200th Convocation.

Here’s a list of new students at Colby College from York County this fall:

• Matthew Albaum of Kennebunk. He is a graduate of Kennebunk High School and is the son of Michael Albaum and Tammi Bittler of Kennebunk.

• Nathaniel Ferguson of Limerick. He is a graduate of Maine School Science & Math and is the son of David and Marcia Ferguson of Limerick.

• Madison Lavigne of York. She is a graduate of York High School and is the daughter of Rachel Lavigne of York.

• Samuel Leathe of Eliot. He is a graduate of Marshwood High School and is the son of Jeffrey and Martha Leathe of Eliot.

• Sarah Montembeau of Kittery Point. She is a graduate of Robert W. Traip Academy and is the daughter of Stephen and Pamela Montembeau of Kittery Point.

• Derek Muse of Kennebunkport. He is a graduate of Berwick Academy and is the son of Gregory and Carolyn Muse of Kennebunkport.

• Hannah Richelieu of Kennebunk. She is a graduate of Kennebunk High School and is the daughter of Alicia Richelieu of Kennebunk.

The Class of 2021 was selected from the largest and most academically qualified pool of applications in Colby’s 205-year history. This class will be the first to benefit fromDavisConnects, Colby’s innovative program that supports all students in their pursuit of independent and collaborative research, global experiences, and internships to prepare them for postgraduate success.

Students may choose among 58 majors, including new or expanded programs in computational biology and genomics, environmental studies, and climate science.
