BIDDEFORD — As part of its 25th anniversary celebration, St. James School in Biddeford will welcome Bishop Robert P. Deeley for an anniversary Mass at St. Joseph Church, 178 Elm St. in Biddeford, at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 17.

Following the Mass, an open house and reception will be held at St. James School, 25 Graham St. Biddeford.

All are invited to attend both the Mass and reception, especially multigenerational families, couples, or individuals who have attended Catholic school in the area.

St. James was named using the initials of three schools that were consolidated — St. Joseph’s, St. Andre’s, and St. Mary’s Elementary Schools.

“We are also using this anniversary to give thanks to God for Catholic education in the Biddeford/Saco area for over 100 years,” said Sister Terry Gauvin, a Biddeford native who is the Provincial of the American Province of the Good Shepherd Sisters of Quebec and an anniversary committee member. “We are blessed.”
