WESTBROOK — Police have ruled the Monday night death of a Falmouth Road resident a suicide.

According to the State Medical Examiner’s Office, Norma Bridges, 50, died by suicide on Aug. 28. An autopsy was performed Tuesday.

Bridges was found dead in her residence at 40 Falmouth Road by Westbrook Police at 9 p.m. Monday. According to police, she shot herself and the gun has been recovered.

It’s unclear whether Bridges was alone in her home at the time of the incident. Westbrook Police Captain Steve Goldberg on Tuesday night said no more information was available at the time.
