The concert will start 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10 at Kennebunk Baptist Church, 77 Main St. in Kennebunk.
The renovation was completed by organ-builder Robert Faucher of Biddeford, including a new console. Faucher began his apprenticeship with a major New England pipe organ company in 1975 and has been involved in the building and installation of over 200 instruments – mechanical as well as electro-pneumatic and electric-actioned.
In 1979, Faucher was awarded the title of Journeyman Organbuilder by the American Institute of Organbuilders. In 1987, he established his own company.
Faucher meshes an age-old craft with the latest technology, and his custom proprietary software designed by the firm automatically calculates all aspects of windchest design and layout. In addition to straight pipe organs, the company has also built many successful combination or hybrid instruments. These are stand-alone pipe organs which provide all the core foundation stops. Additional high-quality digital voices are added to round out a versatile and generous stop specification, providing even more variations of tonal color.
Trumpeter Thomas Kremser was born and raised in Pennsylvania, a part of the Moravian Church, where he studied trumpet from the age of 10. His appreciation for classical music led him to attend Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree.
He performed for several years as a substitute trumpet for the Harrisburg Symphony and Reading Symphony Orchestras in Pennsylvania and played often at The Colony Hotel summer concerts with Warren King, both as a duo and with Coastal Sound dance band.
Kremser performs for his own enjoyment in worship services at Christ Church in Kennebunk and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Cape Neddick as well as for weddings, musicals and other events. He performs in concert with the Portland Brass Ensemble, a trumpet octet.
In 2005, Kremser opened Altheus Infrared, an infrared inspection service company. While far removed from the field of music, Thomas’ career as an infrared thermographer is fulfilling and always exciting.
Warren King is originally from Revere, Massachusetts, where he played tuba in his high school marching band. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Lowell State University.
He has been an active church musician, accomplished at both piano and organ, since his teens. Currently he is Music Director at Christ Church in Kennebunk, where he accompanies worship services and directs the choir.
King enjoys providing music for weddings and parties throughout Southern Maine and Eastern New Hampshire. He is an enthusiastic follower of the Victor Borge school of piano and the violin stylings of Larry Fine.
Concert admission is by free-will donation; any amount is gratefully received to support the missions of Kennebunk Baptist Church.
