The Topsham Parks and Recreation Department offers several programs throughout the year.
As we move into fall, the Rec. has programs for area youth athletes.

Travel field hockey
For grades 3-6, practices will be held at the Mt. Ararat High School field hockey field on Friday nights from 5:15-6:30 p.m., beginning Sept. 8 and running through the end of October.
Games will be held primarily on Sunday afternoons in a round-robin format (two games). There may be some Saturday games. There will be some travel to away games and parents will be responsible for getting the players to away contests.
The cost for this program is $45 (includes a T-shirt) and is open to all girls entering grades 3-6 in SAD 75.
Equipment packages are available through the Parks and Recreation Department.
The following equipment is required: Shin guards, mouth guard (molded), water bottle, sneakers or cleats, stick, and goggles are strongly recommended.
Baby Eagles
This field hockey program is for players ages 4-7.
Players will meet at the Mt. Ararat field hockey field beginning Sept. 8, with five sessions running until Oct. 6 from 5:15-6:30 p.m.
The goal is to introduce the youngest student-athletes to the sport of field hockey. The priority is that athletes have fun, move around and learn some basic techniques through developmentally geared games.
Parent participation is welcome.
Players need to bring shin guards, mouth guards, water bottle, sneakers or cleats, stick (Coach Krista Chase has a limited number to borrow or parents may purchase a stick package at a reasonable price through the recreation department).
The cost is $35, which includes a T-shirt. Proceeds support Mt. Ararat field hockey.
Cross country
The program kicks off Sept. 11 at 5:15 p.m. at Mt. Ararat Middle School in the parking lot across from the tennis courts.
Practices will be every Monday and Thursday from 5:15-6 p.m.
Meets will begin September 21, and participants must provide their own transportation to Mid-coast communities. A schedule of meets/directions will be available during the first week of practice.
This program is available to runners ages 7-12. Younger ages (6–7) will require supervision on the course.
Non-Topsham residents are permitted to participate for $45.
LiL Kickers Soccer
Come join Mt. Ararat boys varsity coach Jack Rioux and his players for this six-week introduction to soccer.
Filled with games, skills, and fun, the came includes a T-shirt and a soccer ball. Parent participation encouraged.
Children ages 3-4 (as of October 15, 2017) will participate beginning Sept. 6 from 5-5:45 p.m. for six weeks.
There is a 15-player limit, and the camp runs for six weeks.
The cost is $45 for Topsham residents, with a $5 fee for non-SAD 75 residents.
