SANFORD — Sanford Police are inviting folks to join them in Central Park for a Community Cookout on Thursday Aug. 17.
Folks can enjoy a hamburger or hotdog grilled by Sanford Police Chief Tom Connolly and other officers and then finish the meal with an ice cream.
There will be child fingerprint kits for parents, there will be prizes and educational items, police said.
As well, community vendors will be on hand to dispense a variety of educational material.
The event is 6 to 8 p.m. Central Park is located across Main Street from City Hall.
