Just minutes after members of the Sanford Springvale Rotary Club formally opened this Little Free Library one day last week at Springvale Recreation Area at Holdsworth Park, someone “checked out” a book. The premise of Little Free Libraries is that folks can borrow a book, read it, take it home or bring it back or donate a book or two themselves — so there is always something available  to read. This is the second Little Free Library in the community and uses a retired  Journal Tribune newspaper box to hold books.  The colorful scenes were painted by Sanford Springvale Rotary Club president Danielle Treadwell.  TAMMY WELLS/Journal Tribune
