BIDDEFORD — Doors will open at the TruChoice Federal Credit union on the corner of Route 111 and Barra Road next Monday.

The ribbon cutting ceremony, starting at 9 a.m., will be followed up with a day of festivities that includes Biddeford’s Sweet Cream ice cream, face painting and an opportunity to win gift cards to various local area shops.

As an ode to their new community, the credit union has stated they will donate $100 to the Biddeford Parks and Recreation Department for every $10,000 they save for Biddeford members. Additionally, a $1,000 donation will be made to Parks and Recreation at the grand opening, a move the company hopes will help fund children who can’t afford summer camp or after school programs but want to participate.

“We look forward to saving our new Biddeford members money and to being engaged in the Biddeford community,” said TruChoice President Ken Acker in a press release.

TruChoice has an existing membership base in Buxton and Portland, but a majority of members are based out of Biddeford.
