HARRISBURG, Pa.

The Harrisburg Senators (44-62) scored eight two-out runs, defeating the Portland Sea Dogs (49-56), 11-9, Sunday afternoon at FNB Field.

Portland finished 4-3 on its seven-game Eastern League trip. The Sea Dogs are home for a six-game homestand, beginning Tuesday against Richmond at 7 p.m.

In the ninth on Sunday, the Sea Dogs scored a two-out run on a strikeout as the catcher Raudy Read committed a throwing error on Josh Tobias. Danny Mars represented the winning run, but flied out to end the game.

The Sea Dogs struck early against Matthew Crownover (1-5) as Henry Urrutia (4-for- 5) nailed a two-run single. In the second, Danny Bethea hit a two-out solo homer, his first of the season and third of his Double-A career.

Crownover earned his first Double-A win,. Elih Villanueva (4-4) took the loss, giving up five runs on five hits over 2 1/3 innings.

Harrisburg struck back in the second inning, receiving a two-out, two-run homer by Khayyon Norfolk. In the third, Victor Robles and Corban Joseph hit back-to-back homers and Yadiel Hernandez added a two-out RBI single.

Portland scored twice in the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 7-5. Jeremy Barfield hit a one-out homer, his 18th of the season. Barfield finished July with 12 homers and 33 RBIs — both franchise records for a month.

Norfolk continued his hot two-out hitting, clearing the bases with a double against Jacob Dahlstrand, giving Harrisburg a 10-5 lead in the seventh. Portland added three runs in the eighth on a single by Mars. Bethea reached on an error to plate home two.
