ROCHESTER, N.H. — The Portland Babe Ruth All-Stars were eliminated from the New England Regional for 13- to-15-year-old players Friday, falling 3-1 to North Providence/Smithfield, Rhode Island, in the semifinals.
Portland took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning when Chris Cimino scored on a Caden Horton sacrifice fly.
North Providence/Smithfield moved in front with a pair of unearned runs in the sixth and another in the seventh.
Starter Chris Naylor of Portland threw 31/3 shutout innings. Garon Kelly suffered the loss, allowing two unearned runs in 21/3 innings.
AMERICAN LEGION
COASTAL LANDSCAPING 10, WELLS 3: Jack Lynch had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in a run to lead Coastal Landscaping of Portland past Wells in an elimination game at the state tournament in Bangor.
Logan McCarthy also had four hits, with a double and three RBI, and Dylan Francoeur added a pair of hits as Coastal Landscaping took a 5-0 lead after two innings.
Tyler Bridge paced Wells with a double and a single, driving in two runs.
YANKEE FORD 12, WELLS 2: Yankee Ford of South Portland sent 12 batters to the plate and scored eight runs in the sixth inning to beat Wells in seven innings in a winners’ bracket game Thursday night at Bangor.
JUNIOR LEGION
THIRSTY TURF 4, HARTT TRANSPORTATION 3: Andrew DeGeorge hit a two-run walk-off double, driving in Luke Knowles and Chris Cimino to lead top-seeded Thirsty Turf of Portland over fourth-seeded Hartt Transportation of Hampden in the state tournament at Waterville.
Adam Rush hit a two-run double to pace a three-run sixth as Hartt Transportation took a 3-1 lead.
DeGeorge finished with three hits and Knowles added a pair.
Starter Nick Thompson of Thirsty Turf went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits. Ryan Breece picked up the win.
• Yankee Ford of Cape Elizabeth forfeited its game against Skowhegan because of an inadequate amount of eligible players.

NORTH ADAMS 2, SANFORD 1: Michael Gulino led off the fourth inning with a home run and Dillon Paulson later scored on a Ryan Schlach sacrifice fly as the SteepleCats (17-24) beat the Mainers (17-25) at Sanford.
Shane Hughes hit a leadoff single for Sanford in the ninth, advanced to third on a Jimmy Kerr double and scored on Riley Pittman’s groundout, but the Mainers left the bases loaded.
TWILIGHT LEAGUE
EDGE ACADEMY 5, PATRIOT INSURANCE 0: Bailey Train went 3 for 4, including a first-inning solo homer, and drove in a pair of runs as Edge Academy (10-9) shut out Patriot Insurance (12-8) at Cumberland.
Alex Curtis added a three-run homer in the fourth and finished 2 for 4 for Edge. Alex Manning and Kyle Fletcher each added two hits.
EMPIRE LEAGUE
OLD ORCHARD BEACH 9, PUERTO RICO 3: The Surge (19-15) opened a 4-0 first-inning lead, paced by a Kyle Schade RBI double, and handled the Islanders (12-22) at Old Orchard Beach.
Sebastian Diaz and James Simpson had three hits apiece, and Jake Walters added a two-run homer as Old Orchard picked up its fourth straight victory.
